3. Maiale (Italian word for pig. A human torpedo like this sank the HMS Queen Elizabeth in Alexandria, Egypt on December 18, 1941. Sunken and soaked, the wet phoenix--if such can be--was resurrected, restored, and used to transport the 170th to war. That is why the HMS QE gets referred to as a "ghost ship" in Shooting an Albatross)
